Hello Third Trimester

I still can't believe that I am in my 3rd Trimester. Less than 12 weeks and Baby will be here. Even though at times I feel like I have been pregnant for forever, it also feels like just yesterday we were talking about whether or not we would get pregnant that month. And to our surprise.... we did! I can't even begin to explain how thankful I am for this pregnancy and how it has gone the last 28 weeks. I know there are lots of women out there who do not have "easy" or "enjoyable" pregnancies and so I count my blessings every day that things have gone so great. I am just hoping the remaining 12 weeks & birth are the same.
As you know, I am a skeptic, hello "my glass empty thought process", therefore I have really taken this pregnancy day by day and week by week. Some are better than others, but I try to remind myself that whatever is meant to happen, will happen. I was skeptic we would make it to 12 weeks, I was skeptic something would be wrong with the baby at our 20 weeks ultrasound, I am skeptic labor will be so hard, I am skeptic we will have a difficult baby. All things that are a little legitimate to feel because the process of pregnancy is so much out of ones control. I think, well I know, I tend to always think worse case scenario, so that if something bad does happen, I feel like I am prepared and not blindsided. But on the other hand, it does take away some of the joy of pregnancy because I am too hesitant to fully enjoy the process. I know I will look back in 6 months telling myself that I should have enjoyed the process more, yet I still can't train my mind to start thinking more "glass half full". Even though, I have been so fortunate with this pregnancy, I still have that small pit of worry in my stomach.
With all of that being said, I am very much looking forward to all of the changes the next 12 weeks will bring. We still have LOTS to do before Baby can make his/her arrival. Having a baby really is the most amazing thing in the world and I am so glad my husband and I chose this path for our lives!!

P.S. Off to due my glucose test... I have heard mixed opinions about it. As you know from my weekly bump updates, I am a lover - I mean LOVER - of all things sweet-- so I am hoping it won't be too bad!

How far along: 27 weeks
Size of Baby: Rutabaga  14.8 inches & about  2.5 lbs
Gender:  Not finding out J …everyone says girl… Hubby says boy (he really wants a girl tho) 13 weeks or less till we find out!
Weight gain:  18lbs or so… we will find out next week at our 28week appt.
Maternity clothes:  a mixture of both maternity and regular
Stretch marks: luckily, none so far!
Belly button in or out: slowly but surely coming out.
Sleep:  hasn’t been great because of my cold, but getting better
Best moment this week:  Finding a baby girl coming home outfit. I am a little obsessed with it. Not to mention I ordered a couple matching bows J while I will love a little boy just as much, I am really hoping for girl!
Worst moment this week:  after being around sickness for 2 weeks I caught the dreaded cold. It has not been fun! I have really tried to only take Tylenol during my pregnancy so I didn’t take any medicine for my cold. Lots of congestion and super hard to sleep L
Miss anything:  regular clothes and warm weather and cocktails J
Movement:  lots of kicks! Pretty sure we felt babies feet the other night… such an amazing experience. And the look on my husband’s face when he feels the baby is priceless!
Cravings:  still anything sweet. Fruit snacks, juice, fruit, oreos
Symptoms:  none … VERY thankful!
Happy or Moody: Happy J
Looking forward to: the nursery coming together

26 weeks

so far behind...took this pic at 26 weeks 6 days!

How far along: 26 weeks

Size of Baby: Lettuce  14.8 inches & about  2.2lbs

Gender:  Not finding out J

Weight gain:  17lbs or so

Maternity clothes:  a mixture of both maternity and regular

Stretch marks: luckily, none so far!

Belly button in or out: slowly but surely coming out. So weird because I have had 2 surgeries through my belly button and so it looks a lot different than what it used to. I call it “man made”. I used to not be able to see or touch the back of it and now I can!

Sleep:  been off and on. Lots of getting up this week with nannying all week!

Best moment this week:  having a couple of days off of work while the kids didn’t have school. Rob and I watched Shea & Colton all week while their parents were in Hawaii. Juggling a 6 & 8 yr old is tough! I was exhausted by Friday! Also, sciatic pain is gone!!! Thank goodness for physical therapy.

Worst moment this week:  lack of sleep. Colton had a cold the whole time we watched them and he coughed a lot through the night, so I was constantly waking up. I guess preparing myself for when baby comes!

Miss anything:  regular clothes and warm weather and cocktails J

Movement:  lots of kicks!

Cravings:  sweets again. Hopefully that’s a sign baby is a girl.

Symptoms:  none … VERY thankful!

Happy or Moody: Happy J

Looking forward to: My mom painting the nursery!

Sleep:  hasn’t been great L
Best moment this week:  The weather is finally starting to feel like Spring  & Celebrating my mom’s 50th Birthday
Worst moment this week:  sciatic pain... drop you to your knees, terrible pain. I actually couldn’t get out of bed one day and just happened to be the same morning my husband was gone. It was to date, the worst day of pregnancy so far.

Movement:  lots of kicks!
Cravings:  nothing in particular this week
Symptoms: sciatic pain on my right side, I did end up seeing a physical therapist and the stretching has helped me a TON! Hopefully I have it under control, because this last 1.5 weeks has been awful.

24 weeks

I absolutely loathe this picture :(

How far along: 24 weeks
Size of Baby: Cantaloupe (Mommy’s favorite fruit J )  11.8 inches & about 1.5 lbs
Gender:  Not finding out J
Weight gain:  16lbs …. Gained 6lbs in 4 weeks… YIKES! Better start watching my sweets intake!
Maternity clothes:  a mixture of both maternity and regular
Stretch marks: none!   Using lots of baby oil & Mustela
Belly button in or out: in, but slowly coming out!
Sleep:  I can’t get enough. I want to stay in bed all day every day. I blame the on and off gloomy winter weather we have been having
Best moment this week:  Picking out the paint for the nursery and a glider!
Worst moment this week:  sciatic pain started up  and this picture …. The worst one so far!
Miss anything:  Wine nights with my Hubby
Movement:  lots of kicks!
Cravings: still lots of sweets
Symptoms: sciatic pain on my right side. It is absolutely awful! The sharpest – drop to your knees pain – hopefully its just a fluke and it’s here to stay for the remainder 16 weeks
Queasy or sick: nothing this week…soo thankful!
Happy or Moody: Happy J
Looking forward to: warmer weather …. Seems like we have had by far the coldest winter I can remember. Barely any snow, just bitter temperatures. And warmer weather means we are closer to meeting baby!!
